The Year 2020…
It’s easy to find the hard and negative things about this year. We all know them quite well by now globally, nationally, and in our personal lives. We feel the impacts of Covid 19, social unrest, politics, losses. A myriad of feelings, fears, and insecurities. What have we learned, I wonder?
You know, it takes learning something the hard way for us to change. What has changed? How have we grown? What do we know now about ourselves that we did not know this time last year? Has your values and beliefs changed any? Do you recognize more now the things that are most important to you? Have you identified the people in your life who truly matter to you? What about that work/life balance thing? What about the balance and attention to personal physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health?
What would it be like to acknowledge that: “I have what I need, and I don’t know what I will need…I’m here…I don’t know what’s there.” Simple. Challenging. Presence in one moment, one day. Takes practice, and it’s hard to learn, and it’s do-able!
Quiet morning sitting outside with coffee
Hearing birds and a flowing water fountain.
A moment of Peace.
Alone and undisturbed – a rare time.
Nature holds me, surrounds me, challenges me, informs me.
With signs of dying woven into the fabric of living.
With evidence of struggle in the beauty of life.
