While she is available to support clients through an acute situation or crisis, she is also committed to helping someone change their life patterns in terms of their coping and surviving behaviors and self-awareness so as to experience more inner peace and comfort. Since 2002 she has focused on the role of trauma in our lives. We have all experienced trauma. Trauma is in our experience of an event, not in the event itself. Linda has studied different modalities designed to help in this area such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic Experiencing (SE). She uses a combination of Internal Family Systems and Somatic Experiencing in her work. These modalities can help us identify the underlying motivation that may be contributing to current personal discomfort or distress. She strives to meet her clients where they are, and will use appropriate means to help them achieve their current goals. She believes counseling is a “process” not an “end result,” and as long as we live, we have the opportunity to learn new things about ourselves.
